An emergency measure was implemented between the Usui Karuizawa IC and the Saku IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway where the deformation of the embankment was confirmed due to heavy rain.

After that, a drastic reinforcement work was carried out on the embankment, and it was restored to 4 lanes with 2 lanes each on the upper and lower lanes on April 3, 2020.

The Mitokita smart IC on the Joban Expressway and the Obuse smart IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway which were flooded due to river flooding etc. damaged the power distribution and ETC equipment necessary for operation, but the Obuse Smart IC was released on November 29, 2019. , Mitokita Smart IC resumed operation on December 2nd.

Disaster prevention and mitigation measures ~ Strengthening disaster response capabilities ~

We are working to strengthen our disaster response capabilities in preparation for today's everyday and severe disasters.

In the event of a large-scale disaster, we conduct joint training with related organizations to secure emergency traffic routes and contribute to emergency lifesaving activities and recovery and reconstruction activities in the disaster area. We also aim to improve disaster resistance by strengthening slopes and drainage functions at important points on highways.
