In the event of a large-scale power outage associated with Typhoon No. 15, power outages occurred at up to 58 locations on the Expressway for approximately 370 hours (16 days). The road was closed by the next day.
In addition, free Expressway measures were implemented for vehicles engaged in disaster dispatch including disaster volunteers.

We implemented “alternative road (free) measures” on Banetsu Expressway (Ono IC – Koriyama East IC) parallel to National Route 49, which was closed due to bridge subsidence and landslides caused by Typhoon # 19.
In addition, Mito City and other areas that were flooded by Typhoon No. 19 and cleaned up national roads where sediment was deposited helped to restore affected areas.
