Regarding the site visit for local schools for the E46 Akita Expressway 4-lane expansion project.

From November to December 2024, the Yokote Construction Office hosted "site tours" for schools in Yokote City to visit the construction site for the four-lane expansion of the Akita Akita Expressway between Yuda IC and Yokote IC.

  • November 12th, Akita Prefectural Yokote Seiryo Gakuin High School (14 second-year students)
  • November 28th, Yokote Municipal Daigo Elementary School (13 fifth-grade students)
  • December 5th, Yokote City Yamauchi Elementary School (13 sixth-graders + 10 first-graders)
  • December 19th, Yokote Municipal Sakae Elementary School (14 fifth-grade students)

The initiative aimed to promote local understanding of Expressway construction project. We conducted outreach classes at various schools, explaining the project's overview. Following the classes, students were given a tour of the Yamauchi Tunnel construction site, where tunnel excavation is underway. The tour was well-received, with comments such as, "It was fun to see the process of how the tunnel we always drive through is being built." Our office will continue to actively promote the project to local residents and strive to ensure they understand Expressway construction project.
