On Thursday, September 10, 2026, a ceremony was held to mark the completion of the 2,438-meter-long Yamauchi Tunnel, part of Akita Expressway four-lane expansion project (between Yuda IC and Yamauchi PA). Officials from Akita Prefecture and the Mayor of Yokote City celebrated the tunnel's completion, and a lively portable shrine carried by children from Yamauchi Elementary School added to the tunnel's atmosphere. The event was covered in newspapers and on television, providing many people with the opportunity to learn about the project's progress. Fueled by the expectations of the local community, we will continue construction with safety as our top priority until completion!
