Onahama Road Opening Ceremony and Iwaki-Onahama Interchange Commencement Ceremony

On August 7th (Thursday) at 3 PM, the Iwaki-Onahama Interchange on Joban Expressway opened, connecting to the Onahama Road, which Fukushima Prefecture had been developing.
The Onahama Road is an 8.3-kilometer-long expressway connecting Joban Expressway and Onahama Port. Its opening will reduce travel time from Joban Expressway to Onahama Port by more than 10 minutes. This direct connection between the Onahama Port area and Joban Expressway is expected to strengthen logistics and tourism networks.

At the opening ceremony for the Onahama Road, attendees celebrated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the breaking of a decorative ball. Unfortunately, it rained during the opening ceremony, but the weather cleared up for the Iwaki Onahama Interchange opening ceremony, which was held at 2:30 PM on the same day, and the road was able to open at 3:00 PM.
