Current radiation dose (ambient dose rate) measurement results from monitoring posts
Current radiation levels measured by monitoring posts
NEXCO East Japan has installed three monitoring posts at each interchange between Hirono and Minamisoma. The displayed value is the latest average value over a measurable 10-minute period.
| Between ICs (Interchange) |
Installation number | Radiation dose (microsieverts/hour) |
Measurement instrument installation location (Kilometer post) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minamisoma - Namie | 9 | 0.10 μSv/h | 243.1KP (Out-bound) |
| 8 | 0.17 μSv/h | 237.9KP (Out-bound) | |
| 7 | 0.28 μSv/h | 233.9KP (In-bound) | |
| Namie - Tokiwa Tomioka | 6 | 0.39 μSv/h | 230.4KP (Out-bound) |
| 5 | 1.47 μSv/h | 226.8KP (Out-bound) | |
| 4 | 0.44 μSv/h | 221.6KP (Out-bound) | |
| Tokiwa Tomioka - Hirono | 3 | 0.77 μSv/h | 214.4KP (Out-bound) |
| 2 | 0.21 μSv/h | 211.7KP (Out-bound) | |
| 1 | 0.08 μSv/h | 203.7KP (Out-bound) |
Regarding the measurement location of the monitoring post
The monitoring post is located 1 meter above the outside of the guardrail, not in the middle of the roadway, to take measurements.
- Radiation levels are higher on the shoulder of the road than in the center because they are more affected by surrounding radiation.
- Note
- The values from the monitoring post represent the ambient dose rate (μSv/h) at the installation location, and not the radiation dose received while driving Joban Expressway.
