Expressway renewal plan
NEXCO EAST · NEXCO CENTRAL · NEXCO WEST aims to permanently utilize the functions of the expressway network and will discuss the necessity of large-scale renewal and large-scale repair of highway main body structures and countermeasuresTechnical Review Committee on long-term preservation and renewal of Expressway assets (abbreviation: long-term conservation etc. review committee) Was set up in November 2012 and has been under consideration.
The Expressway managed by NEXCO has reached an extension of about 9,000 km 50 years after the opening of the Meishin Expressway between Ritto and Amagasaki in 1963, and it has reached an extension of more than 30 years and has been extended about 4 times. Occupying a relatively large amount (about 3,700 km), the number of changes and the occurrence of new changes due to exposure to severe operating environments are becoming more apparent as a result of aging deterioration. It is necessary to work on large-scale repairs.
NEXCO formulated a large-scale renewal and large-scale repair plan (outline) for the Expressway in January 2014 based on the examination by the Long-term Conservation Exploration Committee.
In addition, after scrutinizing the contents of the outline plan, in January 2015, we explained to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Social Capital Development Council Road Subcommittee Road Subcommittee as a Expressway renewal plan.
As of March 25, 2015, we received permission from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism under the Road Improvement Special Measures Law on the implementation of renewal projects. Regarding this project, we will commence from 2015.
At the same time, in order to secure necessary resources for this project, we received permission to extend the charge collection period by about 10 years. (Until August 2050 ⇒ until June 2060)
Update plan for East, Central and West Japan expressways (March 25, 2015)
On March 25, 2015, we received permission from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to implement the renewal project under the Road Maintenance Special Measures Act. We will start this project from 2015.
