Human resource development

Developing human resources who will create value in the future

Expressway support our daily lives by connecting people, things, ideas, and many other things.
In response to future changes in society, we will continue to develop human resources who will lead the future of Expressway and create new value.

Human Resources Development Policy (Established in 2023)

Strengthening human resource development to enable employees to maximize their abilities and skills

In order to maintain and continue to evolve Expressway for the foreseeable future, it is important to secure and develop human resources, who are the source of on-site capabilities.
We will strengthen our human resource development by clarifying the type of employees we are looking for, their abilities, skills, and career paths, and formulating a human resource development policy that incorporates human resource development methods and a system for balancing job rotation with different life stages. We will do our best to enable each employee to maximize their abilities and skills.

  • Strengthening OJT to ensure that employees steadily acquire high abilities and skills through job rotation
  • We carefully confirm employees' preferences regarding work and work location to realize optimal job rotation.

A system to support the growth of each individual

At our company, we place importance on on-the-job training (OJT), which allows employees to acquire the skills necessary for the company through their daily work, as a core method of human resource development.
We also provide Off-JT, a training program to supplement the acquisition of specialized knowledge that is lacking through OJT alone, and self-development (SD), such as correspondence courses to support self-learning, as part of our human resource development methods. These three methods complement each other to form a system of human resource development methods.

Improving technical and management skills

We utilize facilities such as NEXCO EAST Technical Center, where engineers can gain simulated on-site experience, to develop engineers through training tailored to their practical experience.

NEXCO EAST Japan Technical Center

In March 2020, the "NEXCO EAST General Technology Center" was opened on the premises of the Iwatsuki Interchange on Tohoku Expressway.

The facility is equipped with the latest facilities to conduct research into "snow and ice technology," a key issue for NEXCO EAST, as well as performance verification of "structural inspection technology" and "non-destructive testing technology" currently under development. It also features hands-on training facilities that incorporate the latest technologies, such as VR, AR, and 3D, to deepen understanding of the mechanisms of structural deterioration and the evolution of technical standards, as well as facilities that replicate the on-site environment of toll operations, including ETC equipment. The facility aims to complement on-site experience and develop more advanced engineers and improve their technical capabilities.

Every year, a diverse range of employees from our company enroll in the Master's in Business Design program.
