An event occurred where the distance marker installed on the bridge between the Higashi-Mito Road Mito Minami Interchange and the Mito Oarai Interchange managed by NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Taito-ku, Tokyo) fell beside the intersecting road.
In addition, there is no damage to injured people or equipment.
Immediately after the discovery, we conducted an emergency inspection on the Higashi-Mito Road (between Mito Minami Interchange and Hitachinaka Interchange) and found some similar damage, but we took safety measures and confirmed the safety of other parts. It was

Thursday, August 28, 2014 At around 12:30 pm, a local inhabitant reported to our management office and the employee confirmed the site.

4 Cause of fall
It is highly probable that the aluminum bracket that fixed the support column broke for some reason and the distance marker dropped. The cause of breakage is currently under investigation.
