1 Seatbelts that save lives! Be sure to wear your seat belts in all seats.
Every year, Expressway where a person is released outside the vehicle without wearing a seatbelt and is killed. According to historical data, the case fatality rate of non-seatbelt wearers is about 14 times higher than that of wearers (see the figure below). In addition, Expressway (including designated private roads) in 2017 are non-seat belt wearers (see the figure below).
Seat belts are life-threatening, so be sure to wear all of your driver's seat, passenger seat, and rear seats.
2 Prevent accidents at dusk! Please turn on the light as soon as possible.
It overlaps with the sunset time Many fatal accidents occur from 17:00 to 19:00. Turning on the headlights not only illuminates the front, but also informs the cars around you of your presence. At 16:00, turn on the headlights and try to prevent accidents.
If you can't see 200m ahead (50m ahead on a general road), such as in a tunnel or in heavy fog or rain, turn on the lights even during the day.
3 Prevention of sideways driving! A momentary loss of power can lead to a serious accident.
Are you driving aside, being distracted by the surrounding scenery, car navigation systems, mobile phones and smartphones?
At a speed of 100 km / h, the car travels about 28 m per second, so a momentary "aside" can lead to a serious accident.
The Road Traffic Act prohibits the use of mobile phones while driving. It is strictly forbidden to stop and use it on the shoulder of the road or where there is a diversion display (zebra zone). When using a mobile phone, please stop the car at SA / PA before operating it.
Driving aside may cause a rear-end collision or billiard accident, so please look ahead and concentrate on driving.
4 Frequent breaks! If you feel sleepy, take an early break.
Expressway there are still many accidents caused by drowsy driving or casual driving. In some cases, it can lead to fatal accidents.
Expressway during long-distance driving during consecutive holidays, do not overdo it and take a break at the nearest rest facility. If you feel tired, take a break early!
5 Prevent reverse accidents! It seems that the whole family is running backwards.
Expressway way driving occurs more than once every two days on the highway, and if it develops into an accident, the rate of fatal accidents is about 40 times that of the entire accident.
Approximately 200 reverse runs occur annually on Expressway nationwide. A little less than 70% of this is due to drivers aged 65 and over.
Expressway way driving on the highway can happen to your family. Especially for families with drivers over 65 years old, reverse driving is not another person's affair. It is necessary for each person, not just the driver, to be aware that the story is related to our family in order to prevent the family from running backwards.
