Due to an on-site investigation of a traffic accident by the Niigata Prefectural Police on Friday, May 22nd, the E17 Kan-Etsu Expressway (Out-bound) from Echigo-Kawaguchi Interchange (IC) to Ojiya IC will be closed to traffic as follows.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

1. Closed section and date and time

   May 22, 2020 (Friday) 10:30-12:30 (about 2 hours)

• The end time will vary depending on the progress of the accident review.
• In case of inclement weather, it may be postponed to a later date. We will notify you of the postponed schedule.
• The exit at Echigo-Kawaguchi Interchange may be congested, so please drive carefully.

2. Detour

Please use the detour via Prefectural Road 83 ⇒ National Route 117 ⇒ National Route 291.

3. Regarding transit adjustments due to suspension of traffic

For passengers who temporarily flow out of the Expressway due to suspension of traffic, bypass the suspension of traffic, re-enter, and transfer in the forward direction, we carry out "transit adjustment" to adjust the toll according to the segment used. I will.

Transfer adjustment IC

• Only vehicles equipped with ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) systems can re-enter the highway from the Nagaoka Minami-Koshi Smart Interchange and the Nagaoka Kita Smart Interchange.

How to use transit adjustment

ETC customers

• Customers using ETC are requested to use ETC wireless communication at both the exit and re-enter interchanges. (ETC vehicles will not be issued a "Transfer Certificate.")
• ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
  Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate.
• Insert the same ETC card for all journeys and pass through the ETC lane at the tollgate.

Customers such as cash

• Customers who pay by cash, etc. should receive the "passenger certificate" at the outflow IC and then collect the "passport" at the re-inflow IC. Please give "and" a pass ticket.

Common to ETC and cash customers

• If the road closure is lifted after exiting at the exit IC, the toll will be adjusted even if you re-enter from an IC in the closed section in the forward direction (including the exit IC).
