Situation

Toll gate of Gaikan Expressway Bijogi (Bijoji) toll gate (Misato direction entrance) which was opened in 1998 Since there was information, I urgently conducted an investigation.

As a result, defects were confirmed in the welded parts. When the strength of the defective weld was recalculated, it was found that it had the required strength, but we will implement the necessary reinforcement measures to further enhance safety.

In addition, we are currently investigating all the toll gate gate roofs on the Gaikan Expressway, which have similar structures. If the result of the investigation shows defective welds, we will promptly take reinforcement measures and strengthen the monitoring system such as inspections until safety is confirmed.

This structure was specially adopted at the toll gate on the Gaikan Expressway, but we are investigating whether there are any other similar or special structures. If there is something similar, we will investigate and take the same actions.
