Opening effect between Sawara IC and Mabori Kaigan IC

  • Travel time from central Yokohama to Kannonzaki is shortened to about 45 minutes.
  • Travel times are significantly reduced during peak periods and peak hours.
  • It is expected that the congestion of surrounding roads and the parallel national highway No. 16 will be eliminated and traffic accidents will decrease.
  • It is expected that the number of visitors will increase as the access to popular tourist attractions in the surrounding areas such as Kannonzaki Park and Yokosuka Museum of Art will be smooth.
  • Along the coast, it will function as an alternative road to general national highway No. 16 that is easily affected by typhoons, and a disaster-resistant road network will be built.

  • The Sahara, Uraga, and Mabori Kaigan ICs are half-ICs that only have an exit from Yokohama and an entrance to Yokohama.
  • There is no toll booth at Uraga/Mabori Kaigan IC. Please use the main toll booth installed between Sawara IC and Uraga IC. For ETC time zone discounts, the transit time at the main toll gate is treated as the transit time at the entrance toll gate (or exit toll gate).
