NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Shigejiro Yagi) installed quick chargers for electric vehicles at four PAs in Kanagawa prefecture, such as the Yokosuka Parking Area (PA) on the Yokohama Yokosuka Road, and for commercial use. We will introduce two electric vehicles as vehicles. This is the first step in our participation in efforts to popularize electric vehicles to realize a low-carbon society.

In addition, Yokosuka PA will newly install facilities that use environmentally friendly technologies such as power supply to the toilet by solar power generation, LED lighting, pavement that suppresses the rise in road surface temperature, and greening of wall surfaces. The Yokohama Yokosuka Road will be renovated into an area where you can experience "creation of nature-friendly roads", which is the basic concept from the beginning of construction, such as the maintenance of environmental green zones and biotopes.

In addition, the installation of the quick charger is the first for the rest facilities of the Expressway (including general toll roads) managed by the Company, and will be carried out with the cooperation of the Expressway related social contribution council. The council is an executing agency that was established to carry out social contribution projects aimed at improving safety, reliability, and service for Expressway users.)

The purpose of this is to contribute to the spread and improvement of electric vehicles by daily use of electric vehicles on Expressway.
