Kita-Kanto Expressway Ota Kiryu Interchange (IC)-Sano Danuma IC was scheduled to open at 15:00 on Saturday, March 19, 2011, but the opening time will be changed at noon on the same day.
Tohoku Expressway With the aim of securing a smooth traffic route to the Tohoku region including the northern Kanto region as soon as possible by opening the relevant section at the same time as deactivating the emergency traffic route between Urawa and Utsunomiya, We decided to move forward with the opening. This allows all lines from Kan-Etsu Expressway to Joban Expressway through Tohoku Expressway to Kita-Kanto Expressway.
In addition, this section is currently used for emergency vehicles such as supplying supplies to the disaster area.
