NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will collaborate with VEEMO Co., Ltd. (Koto-ku, Tokyo) to begin a pilot test of "VEEMO Parking," a parking space reservation service using the smartphone parking search app "VEEMO" (hereinafter referred to as "VEEMO app"), at the Hibiya Parking lot operated by NEXCO East Japan starting September 7th (Monday).

In recent years, urban parking lots have faced challenges such as the need for drivers to wander around the lot searching for an available parking space and the resulting waiting times due to unavailability of desired spaces. Furthermore, there is a growing demand for the development of parking spaces that cater to diverse needs, including those of electric vehicle users and customers with children, and for creating an environment where these customers can reliably access these spaces.
In this demonstration experiment, seamless entry and exit will be achieved by automatically controlling the "VEEMO stand" in conjunction with pre-registered vehicle license plates. In addition, the experiment will verify user needs and operational challenges regarding reservation services for parking spaces that meet specific needs, such as parking spaces equipped with electric vehicle charging facilities and wide parking spaces.
VEEMO Co., Ltd. is one of the companies selected for the fifth phase of the "DraPla Innovation Lab."

  This is a demonstration experiment of "VEEMO Parking," a service that allows users to reserve parking spaces up to 30 minutes in advance, using "VEEMO Stand," an IoT device that works in conjunction with the VEEMO app to physically block parking spaces.

2. How to Use

1. Install the VEEMO app on your smartphone and register the required information.
2. Search for Hibiya Parking via the app and reserve a parking space. Reservations can be made starting 30 minutes before your desired time. ^(*1)
3. Enter the Hibiya parking lot and follow the signs to move around within the parking lot. ^(*2)
4. Following the on-site instructions, confirm that the "VEEMO stand" for your pre-reserved parking space has lowered at the "license plate reading location," and then park your vehicle. ^(*3)
5. When exiting the parking lot, please press the "Pay" button in the app. The stand will automatically rise 3 minutes after you press the button. ^(*4)

1. Parking space reservations are available 24 hours a day and are free of charge. However, please note that regular parking fees will still apply for parking at the Hibiya parking lot.
   Please note that vehicles that do not meet the vehicle size restrictions for the Hibiya parking lot will not be permitted to use the parking lot.

2. Customers with prior reservations can enter the parking lot even when it shows as full. Please inform the attendant at the entrance that you have a reservation using VEEMO.
3. The VEEMO stand is designed to automatically fold down when a camera installed on-site recognizes the license plate of the vehicle used, which was pre-registered in (1). If the license plate is not recognized for any reason, please take the following steps. Similarly, if you have not registered the license plate of your vehicle in (1), please take the following steps as well.

   Step 1) On the app, select "Park (lower stand)" to lower the stand.

   Step 2) If the stand still does not fall over, please contact the "Troubleshooting Contact Point" listed below.

4. After using our service, we will send a survey to the email address you registered in (1). Please park your car and answer the survey in a safe location.
