NEXCO EAST, NEXCO CENTRAL, and NEXCO WEST (hereinafter referred to as "the three NEXCO companies") will publish a catalog of wrong-way driving countermeasures technologies, based on the report from the "Expert Committee on Wrong-Way Driving Countermeasures on Expressway" (hereinafter referred to as "the Expert Committee") established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, regarding the Expressway and collecting information on it), which was publicly solicited in 2016 as part of countermeasures against wrong-way driving on expressways.

In order to further promote measures against wrong-way driving, the three NEXCO companies solicited proposals from private companies in 2016 for technologies to detect wrong-way driving on roads and collect information, as Theme II. In 2018, four technologies that were deemed effective after on-site verification were selected and installed on-site.
Based on the report on the status of wrong-way vehicle detection, etc., presented at the Expert Committee meeting (9th meeting) held on September 9, 2026, we will publish a "Wrong-Way Driving Countermeasure Technology Catalog - Wrong-Way Driving Information Collection Technology" summarizing the features and effects of each technology, allowing for a comparison of the characteristics and economics of each technology based on differences in detection methods.
