Improvement effect of the relocation of Abuta Toyako IC

The relocated Abuta Toyako IC along with the new route of National Highway No. 230 to be connected (opened on March 28, 2007) is a pyroclastic surge on Mt. Usu. Make up the net.

  • Pyroclastic surge
A high-speed flow along a volcanic slope mainly composed of gravels and ash.
The apparent density of the flow is much lower than that of pyroclastic flows, and it looks like a sandstorm.

Access to Lake Toya Onsen will be improved by using the new Abuta Toyako IC and Route 230 after the relocation, which is expected to contribute to tourism promotion and economic ripple effect.
