NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) From October 16th, 3rd year of Reiwa to April 30th, 4th year of Reiwa of" Snow ice Seppy Positioned as a "countermeasure period", we will strive to ensure safe traffic by grasping the weather and road conditions and removing snow 24 hours a day.
Prior to the start of the snow and ice countermeasure period, the "Snow and Ice Countermeasures Departure Ceremony (Safety Prayer Festival)" was held at five management offices on all roads to pray for the traffic safety Expressway I will do it at.
We ask our customers to install winter equipment such as winter tires as soon as possible, and to understand and cooperate with snow and ice countermeasure work.

2. Traffic accident and snowfall

Expressway Hokkaido, the number of traffic accidents caused by steering wheel and brake operation mistakes is about 5.7 times higher in winter than in summer. Depending on the weather and road conditions, try to drive safely with plenty of time, such as slowing down from summer, and install winter equipment such as winter tires as soon as possible. The average cumulative snowfall at each observation point Expressway last season (2020 Reiwa to April 3rd year of Reiwa) was about 416cm. The most observed snowfall was at the Do-O Expressway, with a cumulative snowfall of 1018 cm.
3. 3. Request for snow removal work
- Thank you for your cooperation in running the snowplow at low speed.
Snow removal is performed before the snow that has fallen on the road surface is compacted, and the work is performed at a speed of 50 km / h or less by combining three snow removal trucks and one sign truck.
Slow down to ensure a sufficient distance between vehicles, and follow the snow removal vehicle.

When overtaking a work vehicle that is being sprayed, be careful as the antifreeze agent may get on the vehicle.
