NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) is the first in Hokkaido to conduct road work training assuming the occurrence of vehicles driving in the wrong direction on Expressway. E5 The event will be held at the Tomakomai Chuo Interchange on Do-O Expressway.
This training assumes the occurrence of a vehicle driving the wrong way on Expressway, and involves a series of road work training exercises, from the arrival of a patrol car from NEXCO EAST Traffic Management Team on the scene, to contacting and reporting to relevant agencies, regulating lanes, ensuring the safety of following general vehicles, and dealing with the vehicle driving the wrong way.
This is a rare opportunity for members of the media to see the sense of urgency and teamwork on the ground, so please do come and cover the event.

4. Purpose of the project
The aim is to strengthen cooperation between traffic control personnel, leading to smooth incident handling and safety assurance, and to provide "safe, secure, comfortable and convenient" Expressway services to customers.
