NEXCO EAST Muroran Management Office (Muroran City) will cooperate with Hokkaido Otani Muroran High School and the comprehensive support facility for people with intellectual disabilities "Sun no En" to harvest sunflower seeds at the Mt. Usu Service Area (SA) in E5 Do-O Expressway (Hokkaido).
This initiative is part of the "Fukushima Sunflower Foster Care Project (details are shown on the back)" that it has participated in since Heisei 30, and aims to support reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake. In addition, it is an initiative that will lead to the promotion of the "Flowers and Greenery Peace Highway Garden Project," which will decorate SA with trees and flowers to make it an easy-to-use and refreshing space for customers, and the "Kofuku (Happiness) Collaboration," which utilizes Expressway as a resource for regional revitalization and Large employment opportunities for people with disabilities. "Fukushima Sunflower Foster Parent Project”What is
As part of activities aimed at supporting recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, we purchased sunflower seeds from welfare facilities for the disabled in Fukushima Prefecture, harvested the seeds from the grown flowers, and sent them to Fukushima to serve as symbols of recovery at schools and companies in Fukushima. This is an initiative to make the sunflowers that are.
Today, it is widely used across the country not only for reconstruction assistance, but also as part of children's education and corporate CSR.

Origin of the name
The name was inspired by the idea of "agricultural welfare collaboration," which is the collaboration between agriculture and welfare.
The logo mark is designed with the character for "person" (hito) placed on Expressway, with our company on the right and our partner on the left, supporting each other. It also looks like a plus sign, and is a design that evokes improvement.
