NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) will be hosting the "Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2026".
"Hokkaido Highway Show Area®" is an event that actively promotes "food and tourism" from various parts of Hokkaido through service areas (SAs) and parking areas (PAs) in collaboration with local communities. Held annually as part of the promotion of tourism within Hokkaido, various organizations showcase the charms of their regions through sales of local gourmet food and specialty products, and regional PR.
At the Funka Bay Panorama Park venue, there will be a Jomon Summer Festival celebrating the 5th anniversary of the registration of the "Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Hokkaido and Northern Tohoku" as a World Heritage Site, an opportunity to interact with the draft horse Hakunryu, and plenty of other fun events, including the annual character greetings and a raffle with fantastic prizes.

(1) Quiz rally and raffle with fantastic prizes
By answering quizzes and questionnaires about NEXCO EAST and participating organizations, you can participate in a raffle to win fantastic prizes such as tickets to a Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters game on August 28th (Friday) and event-exclusive coffee roasted by Zen Maki, the skills coach and interpreter for Levanga Hokkaido.

(2) Traffic safety awareness campaigns
With the cooperation of the Hokkaido Prefectural Police Expressway Traffic Police Unit, we will be exhibiting patrol cars from the Hokkaido Prefectural Police and NEXCO EAST Traffic Management Unit.
Additionally, children can dress up in the Little Traffic Control Team uniform, pretend to be traffic control officers, take photos, and create their own original badges.
(3) Character Greetings
During the event, NEXCO EAST manners promotion characters, "Manatee" and "Ikanzame," will be visiting. In addition, at the Watsu venue, Hokkaido's tourism PR character "Kyun-chan," "Wagyuri" from Otofuke Town, and "Ebechun" from Ebetsu City will be visiting. At the Funka Bay Panorama Park venue, "Ricky" from Ban'ei Tokachi, "Iburi ONE-Jr." from the Iburi region, and "Imarun" from Imakane Town will be visiting.

(4) Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally: "Event-Exclusive Stamps" Available

(5) Sales of capsule toys featuring signs for service areas and parking areas on Expressway
Keychains featuring signs from Expressway and parking areas will be available as capsule toys!
It costs 300 yen per try, so try to collect all the different types!
(6) Cotton candy making activity available with purchases of 500 yen or more (tax included)
On the day of the event, customers who spend 500 yen or more (including tax) at the food and merchandise booths inside the venue, the shop at the Watsu PA (Out-bound lane, towards Sapporo) on the Hokkaido Expressway, or the shop inside the Panorama Hall at Funka Bay Panorama Park can participate in the cotton candy making activity.

General Coffee Store from Sapporo Jozankei will be selling freshly roasted coffee and "high-speed" espresso shots from a food truck at the venue, featuring coffee roasted by Zen Maki of "Levanga Hokkaido".
(3) "AEON E-NEXCO pass card" booth
We will be setting up a booth for new applications for the "AEON E-NEXCO pass card".
Sign up on the day and receive a free original miniature car.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the registration of the "Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Hokkaido and Northern Tohoku" as a World Heritage Site, we will be holding the "Jomon Summer Festival" at the Panorama Hall, featuring workshops and exhibitions on Jomon heritage, as well as the sale of sweets, making the Jomon period more accessible.

On Sunday, July 19th, from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, at the stage inside the Panorama Hall, there will be a performance of Jomon Taiko drums by Jomon Taiko drummer Takeshi Moro to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the World Heritage designation, as well as a special talk by Chiharu Abe, advisor to the Southern Hokkaido Historical and Cultural Promotion Foundation.

(4) The draft horse Hakunryu is coming!
Hakunryu, a draft horse from the Ban'ei Racecourse in Obihiro City, will be coming to promote the event.
We encourage you to experience the sheer size of a draft horse through your interaction with "Hakunryu-go."
(5) Hokkaido Heritage Panel Exhibition
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Hokkaido Heritage program, which showcases treasures unique to Hokkaido that we want to pass on to future generations, we will be holding a panel exhibition inside the Panorama Hall.
(6) Simultaneous live broadcast on three radio stations
On Saturday, July 18th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, FM View (Muroran City), FM Iruka (Hakodate City), and wi-radio (Date City) will simultaneously broadcast live on three radio stations. (The broadcast will include introductions to the venue and promotions for booths.)

NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office is participating in the "HOKKAIDO LOVE! Project," a collaborative project between Hokkaido and the Hokkaido Tourism Organization, a public interest incorporated association, with the aim of supporting the tourism industry in various parts of Hokkaido.
As a collaboration between "NEXCO EAST NEXCO!" Based on the philosophy of this project, we will make efforts to boost tourism in our beloved Hokkaido.
