Due to damage caused by an avalanche in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture, National Route 17 was closed to traffic. In response to this, the toll-free measure for Kan-Etsu Expressway (between Yuzawa IC and Tsukiyono IC, and between Yuzawa IC and Minakami IC) that had been in place since 7:00 on the 4th ended at 7:00 p.m. as the closed section of the national route was lifted at 6:30 p.m.
