NEXCO EAST Utsunomiya Construction Office (Utsunomiya City, Tochigi, Director: Kenji Shiimoto), since September 2007, along with the construction of Iwafune Junction (tentative name) that connects the Kita-Kanto Expressway and the Tohoku Expressway Tohoku Expressway I had set up a detour road to turn around the lane, but since the related work was completed this time, I will return the lane from the detour road to the original lane of the Tohoku Expressway road.

In addition, due to this switching work, we will regulate the continuous lanes on the up and down lines between Sano Fujioka IC and Tochigi IC.

1 Overview of detour road installation

Regulated speed: 100km/hour

Installation period: September 2007 to September 2008 (about 1 year)

(2) Construction details during the detour period

Construction of structures (bridge, Hakobuchi) for the current Tohoku Expressway and Kita-Kanto Expressway to cross over.

2 Traffic restrictions associated with switching from the bypass road to the original lane

Due to this switching work, the Tohoku Expressway upper and lower lines will be subject to the following day and night continuous lane restrictions.
