NEXCO EAST Mito Management Office (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture) will carry out restoration work on the road damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake at the Joban Expressway (Joban Expressway) Mito Kita Smart Interchange (SIC). In this restoration work, the entrance to the Joban Expressway (In-bound line) toward Tokyo will be closed from 8th of December from Monday, 3rd December to 10th of December, and from 9pm to 6am the next morning.

1 Night closures and dates

In stormy weather, it will not be closed at night.
In case of stormy weather, the decision to close at night will be made at 16:00 on the day of implementation.

2 Detour

If you want to use the Expressway during the nighttime closing period, please use the nearby Joban Expressway Mito IC.

3 Construction overview

We will carry out this restoration work to repair the steps and cracks caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the damage that occurred under the road surface and restore the original function of the road. In order to minimize the impact of construction on our customers, we will close construction at night when traffic is light, and carry out construction work intensively and efficiently.
