Gunma Prefectural Women's University and NEXCO EAST Takasaki Management Office (Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture) have a symposium on Gunma studies, “Gunma Kenmin Day Memorial Kan-Etsu Expressway 30th Anniversary Expressway Opening Society and a New Life” It will be held.
Gunma Science is an initiative to think about how Gunma should come and go while gathering and sharing knowledge from various fields, and Gunma Prefectural Women's University positions it as part of its contribution to the community.
It has been 30 years since the Kan-Etsu Expressway opened in 1985. With the opening of the Kita-Kanto Expressway 2011, the Expressway system in Gunma prefecture was completed. Gunma Prefecture's seven transportation axis concepts are steadily being developed.
Much has been said about the issues of convenience, technical aspects, or maintenance/management, but there is not enough in-depth discussion on the Large social participation, new quality of life, and cultural impact brought about by the Expressway system. There is a feeling that it did not exist.
I would like to invite Mr. Shiro Terashima, who is one of Japan's leading critics and has deepened discussions about the cultural significance of Expressway, to the keynote speech, and I would like to deepen the discussion on these issues by utilizing the characteristics of our university. ..
