NEXCO EAST Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway Management Office and Kisarazu Construction Office (Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture) are conducting a two-lane section (one lane in each direction) between Tateyama Expressway E14 Kimitsu Interchange (IC) and Futtsu-Tateyama Road E14 Tomiura IC. We will carry out maintenance and repair work, four-lane construction, etc. In line with this, the same section will be closed to traffic at night from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each day from May 10th (Wednesday) to May 16th (Tuesday).

We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation as it is necessary to maintain a safe and comfortable environment on the Expressway.

1. Closed section and date and time

   Futtsu-Tateyama Road E14 Futtsu Takeoka IC - Tomiura IC up and down line (extension 19.2km) total 35.9km



2. Road closure date and time
   May 10th (Wednesday) to May 16th (Tuesday), 2017 [Excluding Saturdays and Sundays]
   <Preliminary days> 17th (Wednesday) - 23rd (Tuesday) [Excluding Saturdays and Sundays]
   From 9pm to 5am each day (8 hours per day)
   • The use of Tateyama Expressway Kimitsu PA and Futtsu-Tateyama Road Highway Oasis Furaku-ri (Roadside Station Furaku-ri Tomiyama) is until 8:30 pm.

2. Detour

When traffic is closed between Tateyama Expressway Kimitsu IC and Futtsu-Tateyama Road Tomiura IC, the detour route is National Route 127. The journey between Kimitsu IC and Tomiura IC (approximately 36km) usually takes about 30 minutes, but if you use the detour route, it will take about 70 minutes, so please allow plenty of time for your trip. 3. Construction overview

Tateyama Expressway/Futtsu Tateyama Expressway maintenance and repair work

Traffic safety measures such as repair of pavement damage points by traveling vehicles and prevention of breakthrough of median strip, inspection of emergency equipment and lighting equipment of consecutive tunnels (number of tunnels: 16 places, extension: about 9.2 km) in the relevant section・In order to maintain a good condition at all times, such as cleaning and repair, we will carry out improvement work and repair work.

• Road maintenance work

We will improve the runnability and safety by improving the damaged parts on the pavement and improving the road markings (lane marks).

• Facility maintenance work

We will inspect and clean the tunnel lighting and emergency equipment to keep them in good condition at all times.

In carrying out these works, in order to minimize the impact on our customers, we will close the roads during the nights on weekdays when traffic is light, and will carry out the work intensively and efficiently. We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that our customers can use the Expressway safely and comfortably.

Tateyama Road 4-lane construction

Along with the construction of four lanes on the Tateyama Expressway (Kimitsu-Futtsu Takeoka), part of the rockfall protection fence will be removed as the work progresses.
