NEXCO EAST Saku Management Office (Saku City, Nagano Prefecture) will use the Usui Karuizawa Interchange (hereinafter "IC") to repair the pavement of the two-way traffic section on the E18 Joshin-Etsu Expressway We will implement an emergency nighttime closure at the Saku IC.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation so that you will have time to spare when you go out.

2 Detour

The detours for the sections that will be closed due to this construction are as follows.
When you go out, please leave plenty of time.
As shown by the orange arrow, please use Prefectural Road 92 ⇒ Prefectural Road 43 ⇒ National Road 18 ⇒ Prefectural Road 9.
It will take about 49 minutes (usually about 15 minutes).

3 Transfer adjustments due to suspension of traffic

For customers who temporarily flow out of the Expressway due to traffic closure, bypass the closed section, re-inflow and transfer in the forward direction, we will implement "transfer adjustment" to adjust the toll according to the section used. I will. (Refer to the attached sheet [PDF: 151KB])​

• Sakudaira Smart IC is limited to all ETC vehicles (12 m or less).

How to use transit adjustment

ETC customers

• Customers using ETC should run the outflow designated IC wirelessly and the re-inflow designated IC wirelessly. (No transit certificate will be issued for ETC vehicles)
• ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
  Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate.

Customers such as cash

• Customers who pay by cash, etc. should receive the "passage certificate" at the outflow designated IC, and then get the "passport" at the re-inflow designated IC, and then make the "transfer" at the toll booth that pays the fare first. Please give us your "certificate" and "passport".

4 Construction overview

Since the pavement constructed on the existing drainage ditch is damaged at the point crossing the median strip of the face-to-face traffic section between Usui-Karuizawa IC ⇒ Saku IC on the Out-bound..
If the damage becomes more serious, it may impede traffic, so it is necessary to carry out construction work urgently.
Therefore, in order to avoid inconvenience to customers as much as possible, we will close traffic on weekday nights when traffic is light and carry out construction intensively and efficiently.
Expressway safely and comfortably, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
