East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd.
Nagano Construction Office
NEXCO EAST Nagano Construction Office (Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture) will implement all-day lane restrictions on E18 Joshin-Etsu Expressway (hereinafter "Joshinetsu Expressway") and E19 Nagano Expressway (hereinafter "Nagano Expressway") due to renewal work on aging tunnels and bridges. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers, but please observe the speed limit and cooperate with safe driving within the regulated section.
Additionally, lane restrictions are expected to cause congestion, mainly on Sundays. For customers planning to use the eligible sections, please check transportation information on websites such as "DraTra," and adjust your usage time slot or allow extra time when using the service. This construction is necessary to ensure safe and comfortable use of the Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

2. Requests for Use
- Due to construction work, lane restrictions will be in place on In-bound lanes all day, reducing the number of lanes in each direction from the current two lanes to one. Because the lane width will be narrower in the lane-restricted section, please observe the speed limit, maintain a safe following distance, and take extra care to avoid rear-end collisions. Also, please be aware that lane positions may change as the construction progresses.
- On Saturdays and Sundays, In-bound lane will be closed around the Sakudaira Smart Interchange on the northbound lanes, reducing the number of lanes in each direction from the current three to two. When driving, please observe the speed limit, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and take sufficient precautions to avoid rear-end collisions. Also, there will be vehicles merging onto the main road from the Sakudaira Smart Interchange, so please drive carefully and pay close attention to what's ahead.
- Construction vehicles may come and go around the construction site, so please be careful when driving ahead.
- During the restricted period, traffic congestion may cause slower traffic flow. Before you go out, please check the latest lane restrictions and traffic information on the websites listed in "3. How to obtain traffic information". Also, please allow extra time for your journey.
- During the construction period, we will provide information on construction restrictions using LED information boards and road signs, and call for caution to ensure safe driving. Please check this information before driving and drive safely.
