Today (February 15), from Niigata Prefectural Police, Hokuriku Expressway in Niigata Nishidai one toll booth, etc., to hide the part number plate, repeatedly forced break through without paying tolls, arrested on January 29 It was announced that the illegal passers-by were sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of violating the Road Transport Vehicle Act and the Road Maintenance Special Measures Act.

The Road Maintenance Special Measures Law was amended in accordance with the privatization of road related 4 public corporations on October 1, 2005, and the toll booth was breached in violation of the traffic method (authorized by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) established by the Expressway company. Criminal penalties will be imposed on drivers of cars and other vehicles that pass by.

NEXCO EAST has been working on "countermeasures against illegal traffic" for a long time, and the suspect was repeatedly forced to break through at the toll booth, so the Niigata Prefectural Police Headquarters Expressway Traffic Police Corp. This led to the arrest this time.

Until now, we have been working with a strong stance of “I will not allow unauthorized traffic” by utilizing unauthorized traffic surveillance cameras, etc. so as not to damage the trust of our customers in the toll road business. We believe that the arrest and inspection of a suspect who has committed malicious traffic will help ensure fairness in toll charges and prevent unauthorized traffic.
