NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Sendai Aoba-ku, Regional Head Office length: Mikio Kashima) in, to be able to welcome our customers in a comfortable space with warmth in the cold winter, we are working to "toilet refresh plan".
1 Install heating/washing toilet seats in all Western-style toilets.
- 100% installed for heated toilet seat
About heating and washing toilet seats: About 13% (66 units)
→ End of FY 2007: About 90% (about 460) planned
→ End of 2009: 100%.
2 Install automatic faucets for hot water in all areas.
- One for men, one for women, and one for multipurpose restrooms.
Present: about 33% (112 locations)
→ End of 2007: About 90% (about 300 locations) planned
→ End of 2009: 100%.
3 Refresh the toilet. (4 areas)
We plan to refresh 4 areas by 2008 according to the places that are frequently used and the aging of facilities, and we will proceed with renovation focusing on the following items.
- The interior of the toilet, which has been markedly damaged, will be renewed and refreshed.
- We aim to create an easy toilet by installing handrails, eliminating steps, installing toilet bowls for children, and enhancing multipurpose toilets for an aging society.
- We will increase the number of Western-style toilets to meet customer needs.
- We will increase the number of women's toilets that were lined up during the busy season to reduce congestion. (3 areas)

4 We will set up an ostomate compatible toilet.
Present: Available in 15 areas
It will be installed in two areas by the end of December 2007 and three areas in FY20.
- It should be noted that the "ostomate corresponding toilet" part for installing the area, Expressway "has been established in everyone of companies related to the Expressway we have established by your support from the related social contribution Council".
