NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City), the winter tires on Expressway are being promoted in order to encourage early winter tire replacement and enlighten safe driving during the full-scale snow season. We have conducted a survey on the installation status of and announced the results.
The results of the survey conducted on November 29 are as shown in the table below.
Compared to the previous survey (conducted on November 22nd) in the entire Tohoku region, the winter tire installation rate increased due to snowfall in the northeastern north (Aomori/Akita/Iwate) and Yamagata prefecture. It is a standard. On the other hand, in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures where there is still no snowfall, the installation rate is lower than last year.
We expect full-scale snowfall in Tohoku from now on, so please drive safely with early winter tires.

The next survey is scheduled for December 6 (published December 8).
(The survey date and publication date are subject to change without notice due to weather conditions.)
- Survey method: Visually check the tire type of the vehicle passing through the general lane at the tollgate. (One time: 100 units or 30 minutes or more)
- "IC" stands for interchange, "PA" stands for parking area.
