1 Congestion prediction

[Regarding traffic congestion prediction on the main line]

The traffic congestion trend during the year-end and New Year holidays has no peaks on the Out-bound line, In-bound line, it is predicted that a traffic jam of 10 km or more will occur once on Monday, January 3 in Miyagi Prefecture.

[Congestion prediction method]

Based on the past traffic congestion trends and traffic volume transitions, which exclude traffic congestion caused by unusual events such as accidents and traffic closures, the traffic increase results from the implementation of special holiday discounts and free social experiments were added. We predict the time and place of traffic congestion.

[Results of traffic jam last year (reference)]

During the year-end and New Year period of last year [13 days from December 24, 2009 (Thursday) to January 5, 2010 (Tuesday)], traffic congestion of 10 km or more occurred twice on the Tohoku Expressway due to road closure due to poor visibility of snowfall. (In-bound twice)
