NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) uses the Tohoku Expressway managed by the Company during the Obon period [9 days from August 8 (Wednesday) to August 16 (Thursday)] I have summarized the situation, so let me know.

2 congestion
- Congestion of 10 km or more on the main line occurred 20 times in the Out-bound direction (2 times from the previous year) and 11 times in the In-bound direction (16 times from the previous year) for a total of 31 times (14 times from the previous year).
- The maximum length of congestion on the main line was approximately 55km (△ 6km compared to the previous year), and it occurred between Shirakawa Interchange and Nihonmatsu Interchange (Out-bound) on the Tohoku Expressway Saturday, August 11th.
This traffic jam was caused by a combination of accidents that occurred near the Adachi Tara service area, mergers from the Adachi Tara service area to the main line, and sags (*2) in the vicinity. - Traffic congestion (*1) Was 2,995 km/h (about 60% of the previous year).
