1 Congestion prediction

Every year, traffic congestion occurs on Expressway in the Tohoku region due to the concentration of customers spending summer festivals, sightseeing and Obon in their hometown.

5 Request from NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office

  • Please use the traffic congestion prediction information and make a leisurely travel plan such as avoiding traffic congestion by decentralizing the use of Expressway before and after the day or time when traffic congestion is predicted. Also, please check the road conditions immediately before going out.
  • Before using the Expressway check the amount of gasoline and tire pressure etc. in advance to prevent problems on the Expressway. Also, in order to prevent falling objects, please make sure that your luggage is fixed before departure.
  • Please refuel and toilet as soon as possible before using the Expressway or at a rest facility in front of a traffic jam section.
  • Fatigue tends to accumulate when driving at night or for long hours. In order to prevent accidents such as drowsiness, take appropriate breaks using SA etc. and try to drive safely.
  • In order to prevent a rear-end collision in the traffic jam section, when you confirm a traffic jam ahead, please turn on the hazard lamp and signal to the following vehicle.
  • In the unlikely event of an accident or malfunction, install a triangular stop plate, immediately evacuate to a safe place such as outside the guardrail, and make a call using an emergency phone or mobile phone.
