NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino-ku, Sendai City) We are pleased to announce that we have compiled the usage status of Expressway in the Tohoku region managed by our company during golden week period [11 days from Thursday, April 28, Reiwa 4 to Sunday, May 8, Reiwa 4].
Traffic volume
- The average daily traffic volume in the Tohoku region was 19,200 vehicles / day, which was about 68% of the same period in the first 2019. (Increased to about 139% compared to the same period in Reiwa 3 years.)
- The peak of traffic was May 3 (Tuesday) on the Out-bound line and May 4 (Wednesday) on the In-bound line.
Congestion
- There was one traffic jam over 5km.
- This traffic jam occurred around 11:15 on May 1 (Sun) near the Nihonmatsu IC on the E4 Tohoku Expressway (Out-bound line) due to an accidental closure.
