　この度、山形市、東日本高速道路株式会社　東北支社（仙台市宮城野区）が共同で整備を進めてきたE13東北中央自動車道　山形パーキングエリア（PA）に接続するETC専用の山形PA（やまがたピーエー）スマートインターチェンジ（スマートIC）が完成し、令和6年3月24日（日）15時に開通することになりましたので、お知らせいたします。
　山形PAスマートICが接続されることで、地域経済の活性化、交流人口の拡大、救急医療活動の支援等の効果が期待されています。

Tohoku-Chuo Expressway Yamagata PA Smart IC is connected to Yamagata PA, which is located 7.4 km north of Yamagata Kaminoyama IC and 3.0 km south of Yamagata Chuo IC.

9. How to use smart IC

◆ Smart IC is an interchange exclusively for ETC.

To use it, insert an ETC card into the ETC on-board unit and pass.
Be sure to stop before the opening / closing bar of the smart IC.
This smart IC does not have local staff. In case of trouble such as the opening / closing bar not opening, please use the intercom in the lane.

◆ Yamagata PA Smart IC has separate entrances for Fukushima (In-bound line) and Shinjo (Out-bound line), so please be careful when using them. (See figure below)
If you are heading in the wrong direction, please inform us using the intercom in front of the ETC gate.
Also, please note that Yamagata PA cannot be used when exiting from Tohoku-Chuo Expressway main line (Out-bound line) at this In-bound IC, or when entering the main line from the smart IC Fukushima bound (up line) entrance.

This project to develop the Yamagata PA Smart IC is a business activity that will revitalize the local economy and support local medical care through the development and strengthening of Expressway network. I believe that this will contribute to No. 11.
