NEXCO EAST Sendai Higashi Management Office (Wakabayashi-ku, Sendai City) will take the E48 Sendai-Nanbu Road up and down lines from Nagamachi Interchange (hereinafter "IC") to Sendai Minami IC and E6 Sendai-Hokubu Road Rifu Junction (hereinafter "JCT") to Tomiya IC. The road will be closed at night due to pavement repair work, etc.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation so that you have plenty of time to spare when you go out.

Usage Guide

2. Detour

For detours, please refer to Appendix 1 [PDF: 539KB].
The detour will increase travel time, so please allow yourself plenty of time when traveling.

3. Regarding transit adjustments due to suspension of traffic

For customers who exit Expressway due to a road closure, detour around the closed section, then re-enter and transfer in the same direction, we will implement a "transfer adjustment" in which the toll will be adjusted according to the section of the expressway they are using. (See Appendix 2 [PDF: 195KB])

How to use transit adjustment

ETC customers

• For customers using ETC, please drive wirelessly at designated outflow ICs, and also wirelessly drive at re-inflow ICs. (Transfer certificates are not issued for ETC vehicles)
• ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
  Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate.
• Insert the same ETC card for all journeys and pass through the ETC lane at the tollgate.

Customers such as cash

• Customers paying with cash, etc. should receive a "transfer certificate" at the outflow designated IC, then take a "transit ticket" at the re-inflow IC, and then take the "transition certificate" at the toll booth where they pay the toll for the first time. Please hand over your ``book'' and ``traffic ticket.''

Common to ETC and cash customers

• If the road closure is lifted after exiting at an exit IC, the toll will be adjusted even if you re-enter from an IC in the road closure section in the forward direction or from an exit IC.
• Only vehicles with ETC devices can use Izumi PA Smart IC, Sugo Smart IC, and Sanbongi Smart IC.

Four. Construction overview

Pavement repair work will be carried out due to damage to the road surface on Sendai-Nanbu Road up and down line from Nagamachi IC to Sendai Minami IC and Sendai-Hokubu Road up and down line from Rifu JCT to Tomiya IC. In order to minimize the inconvenience to customers, the road will be closed on weekday nights when traffic is light, and the construction work will be carried out intensively and efficiently. This work is necessary to ensure safe and comfortable use Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
