NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) is pleased to announce that it has installed "short-term parking spaces" and will begin operating them at the following service areas (hereinafter referred to as "SA").

E4 Tohoku Expressway Kunimi Service Area:
From Wednesday, March 18, 2026
E4 Tohoku Expressway Adatara SA:
From Thursday, March 19, 2026

The "Short-Term Parking Spaces" aim to ensure more reliable rest opportunities for drivers of large vehicles by designating some of the large vehicle parking spaces as spaces where parking is limited to 60 minutes or less. Since the pilot program, which began in November 2023, has shown positive effects such as an increase in the number of vehicles using the service and an increase in the turnover rate of parking spaces, we have decided to Large the provision of these spaces to further secure rest opportunities (see attached [PDF: 242KB]), and have decided to designate large vehicle parking spaces (5 spaces at each facility) as "Short-Term Parking Spaces" at both Kunimi SA (In-bound) and Adatara SA (In-bound).
When using the "Short-Term Parking Spaces," please follow the signs and markings within the rest area and depart within 60 minutes of parking. We appreciate your cooperation in using these spaces appropriately so that many customers can enjoy them.
