NEXCO EAST Sendai East Management Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) will implement continuous day and night lane closures on the E6 Joban Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Joban Expressway") In-bound from Watari Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") to Yamamoto IC in order to carry out bridge repair work.
Please observe the speed limit and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front to avoid rear-end collisions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this construction is necessary to ensure the safe and secure use of Expressway, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

2. Construction overview

Repair work will be carried out on the extended deck of the Abumigawa Bridge, located on In-bound lanes of Joban Expressway IC and Yamamoto IC, due to damage caused by the Miyagi Prefecture offshore earthquake in March 2021. This work requires continuous lane closures day and night. This work is necessary to ensure the safe and comfortable use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

3. Requests when using

  1. We do not anticipate any traffic congestion, but if you are planning to use this section, please check the latest road traffic information and allow yourself plenty of time.
  2. As the lanes and shoulders of the road are narrow, please adhere to the speed limit, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and take care to avoid rear-end collisions. In addition, as the lanes change significantly before and after the restricted area, please follow the local guide signs and other instructions.
  3. Please be aware that construction vehicles will be entering and exiting the area surrounding the construction site, so please be mindful of what is ahead.
