Regarding the expected opening date and naming decision for the smart interchange

We are pleased to announce that, based on the current progress of construction, we have decided on the projected opening date Regional Head Office name for the smart interchange (hereinafter referred to as "Smart IC") connecting to the E13 Tohoku Chuo East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd., a project being jointly undertaken by Tendo City and Tohoku-Chuo Expressway, Ltd. Tohoku Branch (Miyagino-ku, Sendai City).

"Tendo Minami Smart Interchange"

3. Naming Concept

1. For users of smart interchanges, it should be easy to understand, concise, and clearly indicate that it is an ETC-only interchange.
2. Since there is already a Tendo Interchange within Tendo City, adding "South" after "Tendo" to indicate its location makes the difference clear.

Based on the above, we have named it "Tendo Minami Smart Interchange".

4. The process leading up to the name decision

The name was decided upon after a draft name was considered by the "(Provisional Name) Tendo Minami Smart Interchange Area Council," which is composed of Tendo City and other entities, and after taking into account the opinions of the Road Signage Improvement Committee, which is composed of road administrators in Yamagata Prefecture. The final name was then decided upon through the prescribed procedures by the Japan Expressway Holding and Debt Repayment Agency.
