NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino-ku, Sendai City) has issued an order to replace the aging reinforced concrete floor slab of the Toyosawa River Bridge in the target section between the E4 Tohoku Expressway Kitakami Ezuriko Interchange and Hanamaki Minami Interchange with new floor slabs. From May 22, 1995, all-day lane restrictions have been implemented. The end date of the all-day lane regulation was set to be July 5, 2023, but due to construction delays, we will inform you that the end date of the all-day lane regulation will be changed.

- Change: May 22, 2023 (Monday) to July 14, 2023 (Friday)

Construction will be carried out while securing 2 lanes (1 lane on one side) out of 4 lanes (2 lanes on one side) for both directions.

6. Construction details
In this work, the concrete floor slabs that have been damaged due to deterioration and the increase in the number of large vehicles will be replaced with new, more durable prestressed concrete slabs. In addition, high-performance floor slab waterproofing is applied to the waterproof layer to prevent deterioration of the floor slab.
7. 7. Request when using
- The construction section will be closed to traffic throughout the day. It will be reduced from the current 2 lanes on one side to 1 lane. We do not anticipate traffic jams due to the all-day traffic restrictions that will apply from Saturday, July 1st, but please drive safely and leave with plenty of time when using this section. Thank you.
- Since the lanes and road shoulders are narrow, please observe the speed limit when driving, secure a distance between vehicles, and be careful of rear-end collisions. In addition, lanes will change significantly before and after the restricted section, so please follow the local guidance signs.
- Vehicles for construction work may enter and leave the area around the construction site, so please be careful when traveling ahead.
- During the construction period, we will provide traffic congestion information using LED information boards, provide construction regulation information using road information boards and road signs, and call attention to driving safely. Please check this information before driving and drive safely.
