(Headquarters Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and Chief Executive Officer Naoko Yotsuyanagi) are Expressway service areas. We are proceeding with the installation of quick chargers for EVs and PHEVs *1 in the parking areas (SA) and parking areas (PA).
The government's Growth Strategy Council's growth strategy (approved by the Cabinet on June 18, 2021) stipulates that "Electric vehicles *2 will achieve economic efficiency and convenience comparable to gasoline vehicles by 2030 at the latest." , the spread of electric vehicles is expected to accelerate. The three NEXCO companies have been working with joint ventures, Nippon Charge Service LLC *3 and Japan Charge Network Co., Ltd. *4, to develop and operate EV quick chargers in Expressway SAs and PAs. , e-Mobility Power Co., Ltd. has joined as a joint venture. This time, NEXCO3 companies and e-Mobility Power will promote high output and multiple outlets of EV quick chargers, and have formulated a maintenance outlook to significantly increase the number of charging outlets to approximately 1,100 outlets by FY2025. . (Approx. 2.7 times in 5 years from the end of 2020) (See Table 1 and Figure 1)
In addition, in fiscal 2022, we will increase the number of charging ports by 82 *5 from the end of fiscal 2021 by installing new quick chargers *5 for EVs and PHEVs and updating equipment (including adding multiple ports). In fiscal 2023, we plan to proceed with further new installations and equipment updates, and plan to increase the number of charging ports by 155. Furthermore, in order to make the use of EV quick chargers even more convenient, we have introduced a system that allows customers to use EV quick chargers that have been installed outside Expressway through price adjustment *6, as well as a new billing and payment system. We will proceed with consideration so that it can be implemented sequentially from fiscal 2024.
The three NEXCO companies and e-Mobility Power will continue to develop and Large quick chargers on Expressway SAs and PAs, and strive to improve convenience for customers using Expressway with EVs and PHEVs. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to customers using SA/PA during the construction period, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
