NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) predicts traffic congestion and measures for traffic congestion at Expressway in Hokkaido during the Obon period [August 6th to August 16th] I have summarized the above, so I will inform you.

1 Congestion/congestion prediction

This traffic congestion forecast is based on the past Golden Week, Obon, New Year's holidays, and other traffic conditions.

On Expressway Hokkaido, we predict congestion and congestion mainly during the second half of the period (August 13 to August 15).
In particular, Doto Expressway and Hokkaido Expressway predict the following relatively large traffic congestion.
8/13 (Sat) Doto Expressway Oiwake-cho IC ~ Mukawa Hobetsu IC (Obihiro direction) About 10km near Oyubari TN

2 Measures against traffic congestion and congestion

Regarding traffic congestion and congestion countermeasures during the Obon period, we will implement the following measures to improve safety and comfort.

Providing traffic congestion information and warnings by using marked vehicles at major traffic congestion points and at the end of traffic congestion
Placement of parking lot organizers at rest facilities
Increased illumination of tunnel lighting in some tunnels
