East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd.
Hokkaido Regional Head Office

NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Sapporo City Atsubetsu-ku) is the traffic condition of Expressway in Hokkaido during Obon period (August 8th (Thu) to 18th (Sun) 11 days). I have summarized about this, so let me know.

Traffic overview

  • Traffic volume increased by about 5% compared to last year
  • 13 times of traffic jams during the period (-1 time compared to last year) 3 times of traffic jams over 5km (-4 times compared to last year)
  • The longest traffic jam was 20.7km caused by traffic concentration between E38 Doto Expressway Tomamu IC ⇒ Mukawa-Hobetsu IC (In-bound / Sapporo area) around 17:50 on August 14 (Wednesday).
≪From traffic jam forecaster≫ Traffic volume during the Obon period increased by about 5% compared to last year because there were many days off. Traffic volume tended to be diversified, and traffic volume on peak days of congestion decreased, so traffic congestion of 5 km or more decreased four times. Image image of
