Congestion prediction on Expressway during Obon period [Hokkaido version]

NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) has compiled a forecast of traffic congestion on the Expressway during the Obon period [Wednesday, August 10, 4th to Tuesday, August 16th: 7 days]. It will be announced.
From the perspective of preventing the Large of new coronavirus infections, we ask for your cooperation in distributed use, such as changing the date and time of use.

1. 1. Congestion forecast

During the Bon period this year, we predict that there will be a lot of traffic congestion from Saturday, August 13th to Monday, August 15th.

• "Number" is linked to the number on the map above.
• "IC" stands for interchange, "TB" stands for tollbooth, and "TN" stands for tunnel.

2. Congestion measures

Based on the traffic congestion forecast this time and the situation of the traffic congestion period (year-end and New Year holidays, Obon, Golden Week, etc.), the following measures will be implemented during the period when particularly heavy congestion is predicted.

• Providing traffic congestion information and warnings using marked vehicles and road information boards at major traffic congestion points and at the end of traffic congestion
• Warning of slowdown in some tunnels
• Placement of parking lot organizers at rest facilities

Holiday discounts for Expressway, etc. will not be applied on August 11th (Thursday), 13th (Saturday), and 14th (Sunday) during the Obon period.

1. Please keep a sufficient distance between cars in a traffic jam area and drive at a safe speed. If you feel tired, don't overdo it and try to take an early break at the rest facility.
2. In order to prevent a rear-end collision in a traffic jam section, if you confirm a traffic jam ahead, please cooperate with us by turning on the hazard lamp and signaling the following vehicle.
3. Road traffic conditions may change significantly due to accidents and weather. Please check the latest road traffic information before departure.
