NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo City) summarizes the traffic situation in Hokkaido during the Obon period [Wednesday, August 9, 2023-Wednesday, August 16, 2023: 8 days] so I will let you know.
- Average daily traffic was 113% compared to the same period last year.
- There were 11 traffic jams of 1km or longer, an increase of 1 from the same period last year.
- The maximum length of traffic congestion occurred around 16:30 on August 15 (Tue) at E38 Doto Expressway Shimukappu Interchange (IC) → Mukawahobetsu IC (In-bound, towards Sapporo) due to traffic congestion after the suspension of traffic was lifted. It was 13.5km.
