NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo City) has compiled traffic conditions in Hokkaido during the Golden Week period [Friday, April 25th, 2025 to Tuesday, May 6th, 2025: 12 days] and would like to inform you of this.

  • Average daily traffic volume was 99% compared to the same period last year.
    By period, the first half of the period (April 25th to April 30th) was 92% compared to last year, and the second half (May 1st to May 6th) was 104% compared to last year.
  • There were 10 traffic jams of over 1 km in length, two more than the same period last year.
  • There were two traffic jams of 10km or more, two fewer than the same period last year.
  • The longest traffic jam length was 29.0 km on Saturday, May 3rd at 9:20am, on the E38 Doto Expressway Expressway from Memuro In-bound (IC) to Tomamu IC (bound for Sapporo) due to traffic congestion and reduced visibility caused by fog.
