East Japan Expressway Co., Ltd. Kanto Regional Head Office
Central Japan Expressway Tokyo Regional Head Office
Central Japan Expressway Hachioji Regional Head Office
NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office and NEXCO CENTRAL Tokyo Regional Head Office /Hachioji Regional Head Office, year-end and New Year holidays [Dec. 26, 2009 (Sat.) to Jan. 5, 2010 (Tue.) 11 days] Kanto Koshin region and Shizuoka prefecture We have summarized the trends and countermeasures for traffic congestion (10 km or more) due to traffic concentration that is expected to occur on the Expressway.
During the year-end and New Year holidays of this year, we will implement a tariff measure to disperse traffic. (Weekday discounts apply on Saturday, December 26th and Sunday, December 27th. Please note that holiday discounts (special holiday discounts, etc.) do not apply. Holiday discounts will be applied on the 5th (Tuesday), and weekday discounts will also be applied for medium-sized vehicles, large vehicles, and oversized vehicles.) However, we predict that there will be a lot of traffic congestion, so please refer to this traffic congestion forecast, Please use it for making a comfortable travel plan, such as adjusting the departure time based on the time of day when the peak of traffic congestion is predicted. Also, in order to use the Expressway safely and comfortably in the coming winter season, please wear winter tires and carry anti-slip devices such as tire chains.
This traffic congestion forecast is based on the traffic volume and traffic congestion during the busy periods of Golden Week and Obon after the introduction of the ETC holiday special discount. Depending on usage trends, congestion may occur even in places where there was no congestion during Golden Week or Obon, and traffic conditions may change significantly due to accidents, weather conditions, etc. Please check the traffic information.
Also, if you use ETC, you can use various discounts and smart interchanges.
(For more information, please see http://www.driveplaza.com/traffic/tolls_etc/ or http://www.c-nexco.co.jp/etc/)
In the ETC lane, keep a sufficient distance between vehicles and drive at a safe speed of 20 km/h or less. NEXCO EAST and NEXCO CENTRAL, speed control measures are being implemented to delay the opening timing of the ETC opening/closing bar. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
