(hereinafter referred to as NEXCO CENTRAL) Tokyo branch office and Hachioji branch office,Golden Week (GW) [Friday, April 28, 2017-Sunday, May 7, 2017 (10 days)] We would like to inform you that we have summarized the trends and countermeasures for traffic congestion (10 km or more) that is expected to occur on Expressway in the Kanto Koshin region and Shizuoka prefecture.

Please use this traffic forecast to avoid peak traffic and adjust your departure time to help plan your trip. This forecast is based on past traffic congestion during the GW period and recent traffic conditions.However, the actual traffic congestion may differ from the forecast due to accidents, weather, etc. Please check the traffic information in.

In addition, each Expressway company provides traffic congestion forecast information and road traffic information with various tools. Please use it when using the Expressway.

1 Congestion prediction

(1) Trend of traffic congestion

Congestion is expected to be concentrated in the second half of both the vertical lines. Out-bound direction is May 3 days (water), 4 (Thursday), In-bound direction is May 4 (Thursday), we expect congestion is concentrated in 5 days (gold).

By using the traffic congestion prediction and avoiding traffic congestion peaks, we hope that you can reduce traffic congestion and shorten travel time.

3 Customer Service Initiatives (Countermeasures against congestion)

We will work to strengthen our customer services, including measures to alert people to the rear end of a traffic jam, staff parking lots in the service area, install temporary toilets, and secure parking for large vehicles.

~ Requesting customers to drive safely ~

  • Incidents of people being hit by Expressway are increasing rapidly
    If you are forced to get out of the car due to an accident or breakdown, signal the vehicle behind you with a hazard, a smoke tube, or a triangular stop display board, and then evacuate to a safe place and call the emergency phone etc.
  • Driving for a long time causes an accident
    If you feel drowsiness or tiredness while driving, please do not overdo it and take an early break.
  • Please check the car before driving to prevent troubles during driving.
  • Please wear all seat belts, including the back seats
  • Insert the ETC card securely
  • Enter the ETC lane after decelerating to 20km / h or less, and drive slowly inside the ETC lane.
